The two at a glance

Both casinos are operated by Mohegan and governed by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). They sit 1.4 km apart in a straight line. Fallsview Casino Resort opened on June 10, 2004, on a cliff above the Horseshoe Falls. It has 200,000 square feet of gaming space, over 3,200 slot and video poker machines and over 110 gaming tables. A 372-room hotel and two show halls are part of the same resort.

Beside Clifton Hill, Casino Niagara first opened its doors on December 9, 1996. It was the second casino in Ontario to open. Its gaming space covers 95,000 square feet, with more than 1,300 slot and video poker machines spread over two levels. The poker room, with 18 tables, is on Level 2. The property has no hotel or show hall of its own.

What runs at which hour

Both casino floors stay open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, including holidays. Casino Niagara runs its live tables from noon to 3:45 a.m. daily, and its poker room follows the same schedule. There, slots and electronic table games, machines that deal or spin on a screen, can be played at any hour. Every time on this page is in Eastern time.

Fallsview does not post hours for its live tables. Its live craps table runs on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. It stands in front of the main cage, the cashier counter for chips and cash. Roll to Win, an electronic craps game hosted by a dealer, runs 24/7. Alcohol is served until 1:50 a.m. at both casinos, and non-alcoholic drinks are available 24 hours.

Crossing from one to the other

In a straight line the two casinos are 1.4 km apart, and the walk takes roughly 20 minutes. On OLG Stage show days and every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, a shuttle links them between 4 p.m. and 12:45 a.m. Buses leave every 30 minutes, but none depart between 8 and 8:30 p.m. The last trip leaves Fallsview at 12:30 a.m. and Casino Niagara at 12:45 a.m. A Momentum card, a partner hotel key card or an OLG Stage or Avalon Theatre ticket lets riders travel at no charge.

Niagara Parks operates the WEGO visitor buses, which run all year and are fully accessible. Taxis can be found, and Casino Niagara is served by ride-hailing apps. Measured in a straight line, Fallsview is 15.7 km from St. Catharines and 27.4 km from Buffalo.

Each hall welcomes all ages, but anyone 12 or under must be with an adult. Shows are listed on the resort's own events calendar. Children may also go into the hotel and some restaurants, though only those 19 and over may enter the gaming floor.

Casino Niagara has neither a hotel nor a show hall. Guests can reach it indoors directly from The Brock Niagara Falls-Fallsview. Children are not allowed anywhere on the property, and all of its dining spots are limited to those 19 and over.

Door rules and children

Where to eat at each

There are more than 20 places to eat at Fallsview, and none is a buffet. 21 Club Steak & Seafood is open Thursday to Sunday, 5 to 10 p.m. Because its entrance is through the Salon Privé, diners must be 19 or older. Guests under 19 are welcome at Bar Barista and at Ponte Vecchio, an Italian restaurant off the Galleria Shops. Most Fallsview restaurants have no posted hours.

Every dining spot at Casino Niagara is limited to guests 19 and over. Pub fare is on offer at LEV2L Sports Bar from noon to 11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. At the Rotunda entrance, Chill Bar opens every day from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., with snacks, sandwiches and muffins for sale 24/7.

Eating and Drinking at Fallsview

Where the car goes

Fallsview's garage has self-parking for 3,000+ vehicles and 10 ChargePoint EV chargers, 4 on P1 and 6 on P5. Casino Niagara's covered garage holds 1,500 spaces, reached from the main driveway, with EV charging on the 4th floor. Neither casino publishes its parking rates. At both, what a driver pays is fixed on the way out, and overnight parking is allowed.

Parking costs nothing for Momentum members at the Ignite tier and above, and for Core members with a parking offer. Everyone else pays for parking.

Fallsview and Casino Niagara Garage Spaces

One card, two floors

Momentum is the rewards card of both casinos, issued at no cost at Guest Services at either one. Guests must be 19 or older with government-issued photo ID, and there is no way to get one online. It has five tiers, or levels, counted in six-month periods: Core, Ignite, Leap, Ascend and Soar. One Momentum Dollar equals $1 and can be spent on slot play, select dining, hotel stays and parking. Momentum Dollars cannot be cashed, expire after 12 months without activity, and are not earned or used on sports bets at Casino Niagara.

How the Fallsview Momentum Card Works

The online side, kept separate

Ontario's regulated online casino market launched on April 4, 2022. A private company that wants to operate needs registration with AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario) plus an operating agreement signed with iGaming Ontario. Those operators are listed officially in the directory at igamingontario.ca. Anyone placing a bet has to be 19 or older and physically present in Ontario. OLG.ca is the site run by the government.

Paid links, each one marked Ad, appear on this guide's home page. They point to a single private online casino partner, which may change; the guide earns a commission from it. Whichever site you visit, compare it with the directory at igamingontario.ca.
